Weddings & Handfastings

"Love does not consist of gazing at each other, but in looking together in the same direction."

Antoine de Saint-Exupery

This is something that I specialise in; and I'm pretty good too!

If you are considering a Medieval Wedding and putting such effort and care into making it such a fabulous day, so different, so colourful, then you really need me to be there to capture the whole feel and atmosphere! I also know many people and organisations involved in this niche area, from costumes to goblets!

I'm no ordinary photographer; I don't photograph medieval weddings in the same way as a contemporary one. If that was the look you wanted, you'd be having a contemporary wedding! I also had a medieval wedding at Ruthin Castle in North Wales so I fully understand the extra challenges faced and the reasons you want to have a medieval wedding in the first place.

Here are my prices:

A. From Ceremony Venue to end of Speeches: £750

B. To include Morning Preparations: £195

C. To include Evening Celebrations: £195

D. Animated 'Boxed' DVD Slideshow of 50 images: £125

E. Albums (main, parent, bridesmaids etc.) From £125

If you have B OR C then I'll give to you the Boxed DVD Slideshow. If you choose B & C then I'll give to you the Boxed DVD Slideshow AND a 16x24" Canvas of your favourite shot!!(normally £175)

If you would like to meet me before you book me, it is advisable to do this at the venue you have chosen so that we can go through ideas and styles you are looking for. Now, I live in Reigate, Surrey; if you're getting married in a castle in The Orkney's, that meeting isn't going to happen there, unless you're paying for my transport! However, I do get around a fair bit, so I'm sure we can work something out. It's just my way of saying don't be put off contacting me just because you think you're too far away. Nowhere on Earth is too far away for me!

My services and prices are here to give you an idea of what I can do for you and for how much, however, I am also flexible so if you would like to discuss a customised package, I'm all ears!

You will not find a better photographer who understands exactly what you are looking for from your medieval wedding photos, because I've been there too. Oh, and by the way, I wear full medieval costume at the wedding too so that I fit in and get in to the spirit of the day! Contact Me

Banquets, Parties, Celebrations & Fundraisers

“A smile happens in a flash, but its memory can last a lifetime.”

  Anon

If you are having a Medieval Banquet or Party then I can certainly cater for that! There are a couple of ways to approach the photography side; I can set up at the entrance to the venue to get 'Red Carpet' style shots of the guests arriving; I can just be a 'Reportage'style documentary photographer grabbing shots of all the shanannigans of the event; OR a combination of both. I can also print 9x6" mounted photos on site for your guests to take home as a gift or they can purchase on the night.

Here are my prices:

A. Photos taken of guests as they arrive at venue: £175 (1.5hrs)

B. Photos taken during the course of the evening: £225 (3.5hrs)

C. Arrival and Evening photography (A+B): £275 (5hrs)

D. Onsite Printing & Mounting: £10 per 9x6"

E. Animated Boxed DVD slideshow of Event: £75

F. Albums and Digital PhotoBooks: From £125

G. Extra hours charged at: £45

If you select (A) or (B), an Animated Slideshow for you to share with friends on Facebook or email to friends anywhere in the world is yours for FREE. If you select (C), then the Boxed DVD slideshow is FREE. With (C) you will also receive 20 professional 7x5" prints of your choice. All photos taken will be uploaded to an online gallery for you and your guests to view and purchase from.

I hope you will agree that this is extremely good value and I look forward to joining you at your event soon! Any questions? Just Ask! Contact Me

Medieval Festivals & Events

For he today who sheds his blood with me shall be my brother...

Henry V

If you are running a medieval festival or a specific event where you need to obtain fantastic professional images of the event to use in your literature, website, publications etc., then I can certainly help with this. There are two main ways to approach this in respect of image copyright. Either you own it, or I do! If you do not want to purchase the copyright but just want to use some of the images, all image credits must be prominantly mine and in this instance a Rights Managed contract would be used. If you wish to purchase the copyright, then all images become your property.

Here are my Prices:

A. Purchase Copyright to all images taken: £750 per day.

B. Copyright retained by Medieval Photography: £175 per day.

These prices do NOT include usage for merchandising purposes. Only for information of or about the event. Images required for merchandising purposes are subject to a separate contract. For information on what IS or ISN'T considered 'merchandise', please contact us with your query.

If the copyright is retained by Medieval Photography, then those images can be sold or used as required by us.

In any case, just contact us with an idea of what you're after, and we can take it from there. Contact Me

Corporate & Commercial

My medieval images are unique. They are both powerful and beautiful. If you are looking for images that convey the harshness, the beauty, the 'feel', of medieval life, then I would ask you to look no further (I've tried!). Most of my images are Model Released and the rest are in the constant process of becoming model released so they can be used for commercial purposes.

If, on the other hand, you wish to organise a location specific photoshoot, I have the contacts, models, costumes (historically accurate) and equipment to get the images you need or want.

Whether you are English Heritage, The Tussauds Group, The National Trust or any other commercial entity that has a commercial interest in the medieval period, I know I can help you get the images you are looking for. Different images. Powerful, moving and interesting medieval images.

Due to the variables involved in what you may require, it is not possible to put a specific cost to this service. Therefore, please contact me so we can discuss what you are looking to achieve first. Contact Me

TV & Film Photography

All movies, films and TV programs need a stills photographer around to document the production process from rushes to final edits, and to capture images to use in the advertising. From The History Channel's re-enactments through to TV Dramas like the BBC's Charles II or Merlin, and movies like Kingdom of Heaven.

If you're going to hire a photographer, make sure it's one that's passionate about the medieval era too, and not just another photographer! It makes all the difference to an image if the photographer has an affinity to what they are photographing. I hope you can see that I do! I am able to travel pretty much anywhere and cope with pretty much any environment or situation.

Please get in touch to discuss your project and requirements.Contact Me

Travel & Accomodation Costs

Generally, I don't charge for travel costs within 75 miles of Reigate. If it's further, I only charge the cost of my fuel to get there and back. At the current price of £1.44 ltr (Oct '11), it's just not possible to absorb these costs anymore!

If I am expected to stay somewhere overnight, or it is not logical to arrive on the day because of distance, I would, in return, expect some form of accomodation. Contact Me
