Without whom, none of this would be possible...
It is only due to your passion
for what you do that these images are even possible! I know so many of you put your hearts and souls into showing members of the public what life really was like in those heady days. The kit isn't easy to look after let alone get hold of, it can be expensive, it can be wet and miserable, it can even be painful! BUT...It is always enjoyable and the cameraderie is second to none!I too share the same passion as you and I attempt to portray that through my photography of all the wonderful people and events that I meet and attend.
I have a proposition to make to all of the groups and organizations that I am not presently involved with.
The proposition is this;
For me to sell these images to anyone who wishes to use them for anything other than personal use (to advertise something, a book cover, in a brochure, etc.) I need the permission of the individuals in the image in the form of a Model Release Form which is a simple document to say that you are allowing me to use the image. Any image you see with a person in it that is being used to advertise anything, must have a Model Release Form signed by the individual in the image.
So, for me to gather these Model Release Forms (MRF) I need your help for which I am willing to pay 10% of all royalties generated by the image, to your group or society. If there are more than one group or society in the image, the royalty is to be split proportionately. The income is passive and is guaranteed for five years! Just to keep perspective here and so we don't all get carried away with thinking we're going to make millions!, some images only sell for a few quid at a time but do so regularly, other images can sell for a few hundred pounds, some for many £1000's. Some even sell for a few 10's of thousands of pounds on occasion!
As well as donating 10% of all revenues from the image to your group or society, I will also send you a 9x6", 8x6" or 6x6" print of the photo for yourself to say thanks and you will be credited as the person in the photograph for all commercial purposes.
So, if you want to be on the cover of the next medieval bestseller, or in English Heritage's next brochure, or on the back of a T-shirt, or even in a magazine advertising anything that needed a medieval style image (the mind boggles!), then please get in touch right now! If you want to get involved, and why wouldn't you, start browsing my images to see if you recognise yourself in any of them. If you recognise others, that helps too!
